EPA WaterSense Kids
WaterSense Kids is EPA's conservation-themed page for younger students, built around the mascot Flo and a browser game that has players guide her through pipes while dodging water-wasting monsters. It pairs that game with printable coloring pages and activity sheets, and its teacher's guides and family pledges carry a water-conservation lesson into students' homes.
What you will find there
- Test Your WaterSense, a browser game and matching printable version built around the mascot Flo
- Fix a Leak Week activity sheet, available in English and Spanish
- Save Water at Home coloring book and an Earth Day tips-and-puzzles sheet
- A Day in the Life of a Drop teacher's guide connecting classroom lessons to a home water audit
- Family conservation pledges that extend the lesson beyond the school day
Our take
It is free and needs little preparation, and the family pledge connects the lesson to home, but the content tops out at roughly grade 6 and is unlikely to hold older middle schoolers' attention.
