Iowa DNR Classroom & Teacher Resources

Iowa DNR's classroom and teacher page is a short directory of field-trip sites and education programs. It points teachers to tours of the state's fish hatcheries and visitor centers, to state parks and recreation areas, and to linked programs that include Project WILD and Aquatic WILD and the DNR's conservation education site.

Our take

A hatchery tour shows students how water temperature, flow and quality are managed to raise fish, which connects well to classroom work on dissolved oxygen and stream health.
