NC Division of Water Resources — Office of Water Education

The North Carolina Division of Water Resources' Office of Water Education coordinates Project WET workshops across the state, giving attendees the Project WET 2.0 guide and activities aligned to North Carolina's science, ELA, social-studies, and math curriculums, and offers It's Our Water, a free ten-hour self-guided teacher-training module on the hydrosphere available by emailing the office directly. NC Stream Watch, a community-science mapping project, and monthly Water Education Coffee Talks round out the office's offerings.

  • Monthly Water Education Coffee Talks, an informal discussion series for educators

Our take

Running the state's official Project WET chapter means the workshops double as a way to reach the broader Project WET guide library, and the free self-guided hydrosphere module is a genuine alternative for a teacher who cannot attend an in-person session. Access to It's Our Water requires emailing the office directly rather than an open download, so plan for a few days' lead time to receive materials.
