W.K.2 Informative writing

Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the topic.

Why water teaches this standard well

Students combine drawing, dictating, and writing to tell a reader something true about water, such as where rain comes from or what a water tower does. Labeling a simple picture of the water cycle or a faucet gives beginning writers real information to share.

Materials tagged with this code are written to the full standard , and each carries a written note explaining the alignment. See how we review materials.
