RI.5.1 Quoting accurately to explain and infer

Quote accurately from a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.

Why water teaches this standard well

Fifth graders quote accurately from water passages when explaining explicit statements and inferences, such as citing the sentence that shows why a reservoir is drawn down before spring rains. Quoting from informational water texts builds the citation habits middle school will demand.

Materials tagged with this code are written to the full standard , and each carries a written note explaining the alignment. See how we review materials.
