K.MD.A.1 Describe measurable attributes like length and weight

Describe measurable attributes of objects, such as length or weight. Describe several measurable attributes of a single object.

Why water teaches this standard well

Students describe a water bottle as tall and heavy when full, then notice it becomes light once emptied, naming both its length and its weight as measurable attributes. Comparing a garden hose and a drinking straw introduces the vocabulary of length before formal units are taught.

Materials tagged with this code are written to the full standard , and each carries a written note explaining the alignment. See how we review materials.
