K.MD.A.2 Directly compare two objects by a shared attribute

Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common, to see which object has 'more of'/'less of' the attribute, and describe the difference. For example, directly compare the heights of two children and describe one child as taller/shorter.

Why water teaches this standard well

Students pour water from two cups into clear containers to see which one holds more, or line up two rain gauges side by side to say which collected more water overnight. Direct comparison without numbers is the first step toward measuring volume with standard units later on.

Materials tagged with this code are written to the full standard , and each carries a written note explaining the alignment. See how we review materials.
