D2.Eco.1.9-12 Incentives, policies, and their costs and benefits

Analyze how incentives influence choices that may result in policies with a range of costs and benefits for different groups.

Why water teaches this standard well

Tiered water rates, turf-removal rebates, and the use-it-or-lose-it logic of prior appropriation are all incentive structures that produce winners and losers. Students can analyze how these incentives shape water policies whose costs and benefits fall unevenly on ratepayers, farmers, and downstream communities.

Materials tagged with this code are written to the full standard , and each carries a written note explaining the alignment. See how we review materials.
